Phonetic Note Of The Day
Dec. 30th, 2002 11:38 pmToday, Dee (the manager) used the word 'mithering' (as brought to my attention by
greengolux). The same sense - loosely, 'to bother at' - so it turns out it really isn't made up; but the pronunciation wasn't what I expected at all. In my head, it had a short 'i', as in 'mitchell'. Turns out, it's 'my', as in 'miser'.
