Sue me. I was in the mood for something loud and brainless. And hey, xXx certainly delivers on that front.

Actually, it struck me as a weird film. I've never seen anything try quite so hard to be cool, yet give itself so little to work with. It was filmed like a series of music videos with the occasional segment of dialogue, but set in eastern europe - which, whilst admittedly pretty, is not the first place you think of to epitomise cool. The premise is similarly awkward; Xander Cage is a bad-ass extreme sports rebel dude (best line: "You hire someone to save the world, you better make sure they like it the way it is now"), but he ends up as the embodiment of patriotic duty. It's cool to serve your country, kids!

The 'splosions were pretty, though (if improbable). Plus, there was a trailer for The Two Towers, which by itself made up for any failings the main feature may have had.

*suspicious* Just what kind of cookie is it? An innocent one, right?

Pure and innocent.

Like me.

Nothing really to say, just thought I'd add another post.

Oooh, yes, poll.

Um, nice generic one. Favourite film and why. Maximum of three, though one preferable. Let's throw in favourite plant, too, just to be random.

Film? Ummmm, Shawshank REdemption. Cos it's all happy, and sad, and uplifiting, and has nice music.

Currently still in "wow" mode for Donnie Darko.

Fave plant has to be the spider plant, as you just can't kill them no matter how much you starve them of food and water.

Me likes Shawshank, too. Only seen it once, but still recall it being good.
Also go for Good Will Hunting, Unbreakable, Sixth Sense, and Finding Forrester.
This is all just to distract from the fact that a lot of my favourite films are romantic comedies...

Spider plants just won't die, as my excellent horticultural skills have also shown.

Got a flowering plant, not sure what it is, that's been flowering for six months now and is supposed to only last the summer. I'm not quite sure how it's surviving me.
