Given that at 11:30 last night I was in the centre of Birmingham with
pikelet,
immortalradical,
wg,
danmilburn and Jane, I'm somewhat amazed that I made it to work at all, never mind in a state that appears to be at least vaguely coherent. Great evening, though; it was good to finally meet
immortalradical and discover that, like everyone else I've met from umta in real life, he's just as cool as he is online. How one newsgroup managed to attract so many great people is beyond me, but I'm not complaining.
I also say he looks like Nathan Fillion, but I seem to be on my own on that one.
It was a great weekend all around, actually, if utterly exhausting. I have thoughts on my first Eastercon (fandom, SF, awards and authors) roiling around in my brain right now. Hopefully they'll coalesce into something coherent later on. Meanwhile, it was good to put faces to names for
sbisson,
hawkida and others; frankly baffling to be identified from one audience as 'the David Boreanaz wannabie'; and excellent, as always, to spend time with
greengolux,
oxfordslacker,
truecatachresis,
squigglyruth, Damien and
cleanskies.
Plus, y'know, spending obscene amounts on books never gets old.
And just so we're clear: We're all going to Worldcon in 2005. Yes, all of us. Got that?
Good.
