I'm on my way home from a preview screening of Serenity, which was followed by a Q&A with Summer Glau and Joss Whedon.

Three words (for now), just in case anyone had doubts: it is good.

I'm glad it's good - although it's getting a huge burden of expectation placed upon itself, now, what with the persistent (and consistent) pre-release assessments.

So, I'll be seeing it as soon as I possibly can, but that's still over a month away! Argh!!!!

Don't go in expecting cinematic perfection. In some ways, you can see the process of adapting a TV-format premise into a film-format premise happening right before your eyes. But it's good stuff, no doubt about that.

I just think the second one will be better. :)

I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm the only person in fandom who doesn't care a jot about the Serenity film or the original tv series.

(Not just fandom, either. A work colleague with little interest in skiffy praises the tv series and is looking forward to the film.)
