So nothing can make as good a headline as the Serenity trailer would have done, but this comes close: Doctor Who reviewed by a two-year old.

Tonight's BSFA London meeting features Susanna Clarke being interviewed by [livejournal.com profile] grahamsleight. The Star Tavern, SW1X 8HT, interview starts around seven. There are some interesting excerpts from her recent Locus interview here.

Ariel has posted a long essay about the marketing of books, and the usefulness of genres.

The Orange Prize has announced a new writers award, which will consider short stories as well as novels. I'm not sure that I'd like to be responsible for comparing a collection to a novel and picking a winner, but I suppose the Whitbread compares more diverse books than that every year and gets away with it.

[livejournal.com profile] yhlee writes about Angel S4 in terms of shortcuts.

For [livejournal.com profile] tinyjo: The hug shirt.

Jeff Vandermeer is collecting manifestos, rants and polemics about sf.

And finally: This is bad on ... so many levels. (I prefer my science/arts intersections more like this.)

The scary man breaked his head like this - BREAK.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. If only because I have to have it ready by the end of the week. :p

Then I will not want to talk about it for at six months. Well, probably six weeks. OK, maybe six days.

Nothing really, for some reason I just find it funny to say. :)
