Managed to secure a copy of Black Juice within half an hour of arriving. Result!

Now off to watch Richard Morgan and Ken Macleod be pessimistic about politics. And possibly debate whether Orwell or Huxley was the more prescient ...

Reception is pretty patchy. Awards updates may not be instantaneous. Although rumour has it there is one author with three nominations.

yay!

I'm living in the future!

Also, you could at least tell me which one the elephant story is.

And while writing this, I have been interrupted by Farah saying she's glad Geneva and me are the ones taking over Vector. :-)

Ah, you're around. I've just had a notebook-related accident on Amazon, which I blame you for ... even though they did not have lined cat notebooks, dammit.

Sounds much more interesting than the standard sci-fi spiel of the likes of Dorktower commentary...

Be sure to let us know how it went! As for the political themes, will they be UK-centric, or internationally-themed?

Mostly uk, but inevitably some global. It was interesting when the moderator let the authors get a word in edgewise. Good debate about top down vs 'democratic' dystopias that I will try to expand on when I'm not surfing from my phone. Also, I may not think so much of his book, but Richard Morgan is a very good speaker.
