Phew. Last ones:
Best Professional Artist

An illustrator whose work has appeared in a professional publication in the field of science fiction or fantasy during the previous calendar year.

Best Fan Artist

An artist or cartoonist whose work has appeared through publication in semiprozines or fanzines or through other public display during the previous calendar year. Any person whose name appears on the final Hugo Awards ballot for a given year under the Professional Artist Category shall not be eligible in the Fan Artist category for that year.
Now, this is one I'm really going to have to do research for. I can point to book covers I like--

--but by and large, I don't know who the artists are. At the moment I've got Edward Miller/Les Edwards for The Year of Our War (and various others), and Dominic Harman for Recursion.

And on the fan artist front, I am completely clueless.

So: link me! Show me pretty pictures! Keep me amused on a friday afternoon! :)

You know who he is. PS. Lovers of fluffeh bunnies and other sensitive types will not want to look at the third and fourth links.

Of course, the last link is from 2005 and so are these two. *sob*
*choke*

I can't find scans of the splash pages in issue two with the micropanels or the one where the panels are turned sideways and 2 dances through them killing st!nk men. But remember, they are just glorious. If liable to make you go ew. Ya big jessie.

I never remember who does the art for different books. I had planned to ask you who did the art for We3, though, so cheers. :p

The Cassini Division cover is by Lee Gibbons (no link, unfortunately). He also did all the new covers for the 'Fall Revolution' paperbacks, the UK cover for Newton's Wake, all the covers for Mcleod's 'Engine of Light' trilogy and the UK cover for [livejournal.com profile] autopope's Singularity Sky.

In re the best fan artist Hugo: you might be interested in checking out Dan Steffan, whose work is visible in the 2003 special issue of Robert Lichtman's Trap Door available at efanzines.com (http://efanzines.com/TrapDoor/TD22W.pdf).

Dan usually has several pieces in each issue of Trap Door (including the 2004 issue). He's been doing brilliant work in fanzines for twenty years. Trap Door's circulation on paper is limited to around 120 copies. The link above is to the 2003 issue. Robert has plans to post a PDF of the 2004 issue, in the near future, although it won't be downloadable by the nomination deadline. (It will be posted in advance of the final voting deadline.)
