Post Party Post

They've all gone. They've all gone, and the flat is quiet, and empty. Tidied, some; the kitchen still needs work, and the floor in the hallway is still tacky underfoot (in that nightclub-at-the-end-of-the-night way), but the garden is clean, the living room is hoovered, the bags of rubbish are downstairs waiting for tomorrow morning's collection by the dustmen, and there are clean sheets on my bed. And the last of the guests have gone.

I guess the party's over, then.

I'm left with a pile of new books, a new pen, a new cheap-ass game, an eclectic selction of mix CDs, a carpet that's slightly less white than it used to be and a whole lot of new memories. Thanks to all who came, even if more of you came than my flat can reasonably hold. Thanks to those who couldn't make it, but sent their greetings anyway. Thanks to mattia for his l33t kitchen skillz; to immortalradical for bringing his guitar and dazzling all and sundy with his country styings; to pikelet for cleaning up after me; and to those who manned the barbecue even in the face of the British weather (although in the end, it wasn't nearly as wet as I feared). I'm another year older (24 now, which I think means I'm officially into my mid-twenties), but who cares about that? I still seem to have the best friends in the whole world. Life is good.

P.S. Everyone must see Shrek 2. It's fantastic.
