1. When a player takes control of the ball in real life, there is no little glowing star on the ground to indicate the fact to the viewer. This is different to the way things work in Electronic Arts sports simulations.
2. When a significant play occurs, and at all other times, the commentators speak only in what sound like pre-recorded cliches. This is the same as the way things work in Electronic Arts sports simulations.
3. It's really a lot more interesting when people keep scoring goals. This, also, is the same as the way things work in Electronic Arts sports simulations.

As for a meatspace match, what I like the most is the actual human drama of it. But is definitely more fun to see in the stadium than on TV, and more fun still to play a meatspace game with friends.

I will add something from an SMS dialogue I had with
I wrote, with some amount of diplomatic good-feelings that England hasn't been playing well to date, and the Swiss did surprisingly well against Croatia - maybe the Swiss stand a chance.
She responded: 'you don't have to play well to defeat CH'
Seems she's been proven correct, again. ;-)
