That's how I remember it being pronounced at a ride based on the cartoons in some theme park, I think at Universal Studios, when I was a kid. There was a short documentary before the ride where people talked of how brilliant Hanna and Barbera were.
Well, I guess I have a weird memory for this sort of thing ... "This has been a Hanna-Barbera production" rings loudly in mind. I guess Charolette's Web made a strong impression. :-)

The animation studio is indeed, pronounced BAR-BEAR-AH; and the the cartoon bear that they made famous really was named after the famous ball-player.
It's just the Yogi's name was spelled B-E-R-R-A (one B, two R's).
