There must be something in the air. I'm having the craziest urge to do this:

Maidenhead Boundary Walk

Designed as a sponsored walk with a difference "Beating the Bounds" of the old boundary of the Borough of Maidenhead. The difference?  You raise funds for your own charity or pet cause using sponsor forms provided for you and enjoy the day!

(Even though I'm not sure about their grammar.)

I'm also half-considering this:

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.

(Even though I'm not sure about their philosophy.)

Yes. Definitely something in the air.

Go on, a little invigourating exercise, some willing funders, and an acceptable cause to direct those funds.

Moreover, you're a tee-totaller, so people can trust you not to blow the funds on booze. On music, books, and DVDs we can be less sure...hmmm. ;-)

It works out at what, 1,300 words a day? That's not that hard, especially if I cheat and take some holiday during November. And I have just had my first idea ever which would support more than 5,000 words...the only problem is, I'm not sure I could convince myself to write it in a less than perfect form. ;-)

It's this coming Sunday, so I haven't really got time to effectively fund-raise. I was thinking more of just doing the walk. Because It's There.

NaNiWriMo? My god, is it that time of year again? Wow, went by fast. Meant to do it last year. Never did. Will be repeating that pattern this year... but, go, Niall, you can do it!
