Meme Recombination
Sep. 9th, 2003 02:41 pmI haven't done a meme for a while. And this one requires minimal effort on my part (at least until everyone who hasn't done so already posts it on their journal), so:
1. How did you first find my journal?
2. Why did you originally decide to add me to your 'Friends' list (if you have)?
3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?
5. Ask me a question. Be as random as you want.
6. What one (1) word would you use to describe me?
7. Recommend a band to me. I'm curious as to what you think I should be listening to.
8. Recommend an LJ personnage to me who isn't already on my 'Friends' List.

Date: 2003-09-09 06:57 am (UTC)I think I was there for its birth, though I'd really need to check the truckboard for exact time details.
2. Why did you originally decide to add me to your 'Friends' list (if you have)?
Well... I think it's probably because I rather like you.
3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
I like that there's a mix of personal and non-personal entries. Though your dork icon is tres funny.
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?
I don't particularly enjoy the SF-related entries - can be hit and miss with me.
5. Ask me a question. Be as random as you want.
The aliens - were they kind to you?
6. What one (1) word would you use to describe me?
what one (1) as opposed to one (2)? My word = intelligent.
6. Recommend a band to me. I'm curious as to what you think I should be listening to.
Oh fun! ;)
Erm, Kings of Leon or Nina Nastasia.
7. Recommend an LJ personnage to me who isn't already on my 'Friends' List.
*checks your friends list*
You've got Garfield (aka IslandCreature) so I'm going with

Date: 2003-09-09 07:35 am (UTC)I like that, too. The reason I don't use varied icons much is because it messes with other peoples' heads when they do it (naming no names, Ms. Ken), so...
I don't particularly enjoy the SF-related entries - can be hit and miss with me.
Some of them hit with you? :)
The aliens - were they kind to you?
They were. I learnt so much from them.
Kings of Leon
Already considered buying their album...

Yes. Yes, it is. And yet, 'speculative fiction' is still a useful categorisation. Go figure. :-p

Nah. But it's fun cooking for other people. First meal for the parents, tonight!

Er... I have no idea. You were just so damn sexy and attracive... Oh this is a silly question.

You can't seriously expect me to answer this, surely? :)
Damien Rice.
Haven't listened to that album yet. But I will do.

Date: 2003-09-09 07:27 am (UTC)Knew it was happening and kept an eye out. As for your previous journal - I think someone told me you'd got one and to go and look at it.
2. Why did you originally decide to add me to your 'Friends' list (if you have)?
'cause you're my friend. Dur.
3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
I guess just generally feeling like I have an idea of what you're up to, how you're doing, and what you're thinking about without having to prod over email or similar. And being kept up to date with all the SF/literary news.
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?
Well, sometimes it bugs me when you write better, appear to know more, and sound more intelligent than I do. ;)
5. Ask me a question. Be as random as you want.
If you could live in a science fiction universe, which one would you choose to live in?
6. What one (1) word would you use to describe me?

Date: 2003-09-09 08:36 am (UTC)You friended me when you created your original journal :-)
2. Why did you originally decide to add me to your 'Friends' list (if you have)?
To keep an eye on you in virtual space, since it's not so easy to do IRL any more!
3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
Angst and hopes of romance :-) If I wrote them, it would come out as whinges, but the way you write your life has a definite page-turner factor.
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?
Huge long streams of comments written by people less busy than me, that I have no time to keep up with :-(
5. Ask me a question. Be as random as you want.
How's the whisking and folding going?
6. What one (1) word would you use to describe me?
Spindly, to use an ousfg favourite.
7. Recommend a band to me. I'm curious as to what you think I should be listening to.
Erm. You won't like anything I like, so instead I'll recommend asparagus, which is a vegetable you probably already dislike too, but if you buy it from Sainsbury's in little bundles, you get two ultra-useful little red rubber bands for free.
8. Recommend an LJ personnage to me who isn't already on my 'Friends' List.

- Why?
6. What one (1) word would you use to describe me?
- Tall!
7. Recommend a band to me. I'm curious as to what you think I should be listening to.

Why?
Because that's the way it all came out in the big bang. [/Kim Stanley Robinson reference. Green Mars, if memory serves.]
Miles Davis
Ok. Where should I start?
The problem with this sort of meme, I've just remembered, is collecting all the recommendations afterwards...

Cos you siad "this is my new LJ name". If you mean the original, during the mass Truckstop LJ-creating phase last summer.
2. Why did you originally decide to add me to your 'Friends' list (if you have)?
Cos I want to read what you have to say.

Knowing what you're doing, now you're not on IRC.
