After The Flatwarming Ended
Sep. 1st, 2003 05:59 pmI would say that my flat is now well and truly warmed. As side effects, I've ended up with more wine than I started with, more burgers than I'm ever likely to eat on my own, two digital cameras of which only one has so far been claimed, and, perhaps improbably, a flat that is cleaner now than it's been since I moved in. Friends from school, Oxford, OUSFG, the truckstop and several miscellaneous locations came, saw, consumed vast quantities of flame-grilled food, and took the fact that I was forcing books on people at random with remarkably good grace. Particular thanks to those who brought extra barbeques, or helped man the barbeques, or helped with cooking, or brought cool things like gamecubes, or brought nifty housewarming gifts that weren't expected...I think that about covers everyone. It was good to see y'all.
And I think we all learnt something from the weekend. In particular, I think that
snowking,
despotliz and
pikelet now understand in a way that perhaps they didn't fully appreciate before that when it comes to speculative fiction, it's not just me!
I could go on, but
despotliz has already been fairly comprehensive, so I don't have to.
