Eden Planning
Jul. 15th, 2003 12:13 pmThinking out loud:
As discussed earlier, I want to go to the Eden Session on August 15th to see PJ Harvey. Tickets are UKP25, and Elbow are supporting. Currently also planning to go (as far as I know) are
danmilburn,
wg and (possibly, and separately),
brassyn. Mike has asked to be 'kept informed'. The Eden Project is near St Austell, so that looks like the place to try to stay. I haven't really tried to find anywhere yet, but the relevant tourist website is here, and the Eden site has what looks like a fairly comprehensive set of links covering the surrounding area.
So. Things that need to be worked out:
(1) Does anyone else want to come?
danhartland,
snowking, anyone else out there?
(2) How long do we go for? I was assuming I'd take the friday and monday off for travel, and spend the weekend Doing Stuff in Cornwall. Does that sound reasonable?
(3) Regarding getting there, I think the most sensible thing is to meet the Birmingham contingent in Bristol for an early lunch on the friday. That leaves plenty of time to get into Cornwall...
(4) Where to stay. How much can we pay? Does anyone else have more time than myself to investigate this?
Anything else that needs to be organised? I'd really like to get something pinned down in the next week or so, if that's at all possible. Yes, I am the Organisation Nazi.

Date: 2003-07-15 06:24 am (UTC)After my shameful dithering on TruckFest (I hate myself), I regret to admit that I'm in Ireland on the aforementioned date and so cannot make it. I suck beyond all telling. Although I should probably point out that my LJ username isn't danhartland. ;P

IF (and this is an IF that requires me not going away for a week from the 10th...) I am in Bristol on that Friday - I give you an 80% guarantee of my turning up at said 'lunch', if desired, to meet y'all. It's the best chance you're ever likely to get since I'd have you all around my area and I wouldn't have to put lots of effort or thought into meeting up with people.
Something to think about, eh? :)

Come on, be more Nazi-like already.
