Over on T21, Callum was wondering who would be replacing Cordy as the female regular. So it looks like there isn't one, but maybe we get a recurring like Lorne was for most of the last couple of seasons?

My guess was Electro-Gwen for that, anyway.

Waaah. the temptation was too much and i read this post despite not having seen the season finale. so I'm now very curious as to where certain characters disappear to. hmm. I might rant more about the lack of VK once I've seen the finale.

Fair point. Only trouble is, if I write 'this information implicitly spoils the end of Buffy S7 as well' in my post, then that in itself is something of a spoiler for the cast change. Probably not as serious, though, so I'll go and edit.

Surprised by no VK, I must say - didn't he say something at End of Days about maybe getting more interesting stuff 'next season'?

Also - I expect Gwen to return as a heavily recurring character, because the bosses must realize they've got a problem with the old gender weighting here.

Well, Vincent's not back as a regular, unless something changes over the summer. Doesn't mean he won't be back as a recurring character.

As for gender weighting, hmm. It seems to me that no-one had a problem with Charisma being the only female regular for the first two seasons, yet they do with Amy. There, of course, two more male regulars now as well, but still.. I'd expect Lilah will be around, and possibly Gwen, although now she's got rid of her powers, what's she going to do?

Yes, but as you point out she wasn't quite as outnumbered as Amy will be now. And I guess recurring will be VK's role now ... although that may seem slightly weird. On balance, though, I'm hopeful. Spike and all. :P

IIRC someone asked him that and he said 'aha! You guys got to watch the finale. There's a... well there's a bit of a twist'. And everyone there cursed EoD for not being a week later.

If you've seen the finale, the recurring female slot is fairly obvious...

Bit surprised there's no CC or VK but I do very much expect VK to recur in some role.

I'm quite intrigued to see how this is all going to play out, tbh.
