I just got an email from a friend which says "I just read your online journal and you seem really down. Are you ok?"

Do I sound as though I'm down to anyone else? 'cause I'm not. Promise. I'm actually feeling quite good about life at the moment, as it happens...

no, you sound as chirpy as usual (head to the truckboard for proof - written before i saw this).
though it might have been the depressed 'i got a job post', they were referring too. cause you do sound like the most non-chuffed person ever :p

There wasn't much of the woo-hoo in that post. Though I would guess that at least part of it is becuase working in a bookshop is generally not what you do a three year degree for.....

I *do* know the feeling. My first job after Uni was temping in Barclay's before I decided to change direction and move into IT.

The lack of woohoo is more because I'm not enthused about the whole concept of work than anything to do with this job in particular. I quite like being a full-time slacker. :)

Most of the time I am exstatically happy in my work. Today, the last day of my week of night-shifts, a bit of slacking wouldn't go amiss..........

Because compared to most people here you're singing in the happy tree ... and no, you don't seem down in the slightest, really. I think it's a visual clues thing. You should try a perkier user pic! I have pictures of you grinning from ... somewhere, I'm sure.

You seem your usual optimistic self, to be honest. Like someone else mentioned, I do think it's likely to be the unenthused job post that's worrying your friend. Four year degree just to be working a temp job? I can empathise on that.
