Marginalia
Jul. 9th, 2004 12:45 pmI want Best Short Novels: 2004. I want it badly. Unfortunately, it's only available to Science Fiction Book Club members, which is a problem, because you can't be a member unless you're American. I don't suppose anyone on my friendslist can help me out?
Just noticed the June news from PS Publishing. Gig looks interesting, and I'm glad to hear that Mayflower II is on the way, but the nugget of information that really makes me happy is the news that PS has signed up a new collection from Ian Macleod. Woohoo!
One of the reviewers at Bookslut is frustrated with China Mieville's latest, The Iron Council.
For London folk of a fannish persuasian, monday evening at the Clerkenwell Literary Festival may be interesting; at 6:30 Alex James is in conversation with a Mystery Rocket Scientist (Colin Pillinger?), and at 8:00 you can see Justina Robson, China Mieville and Liz Williams, although whether this latter event is discussion or readings is unclear.
But the big question everyone is asking today is this: could Goran Visnjic be a dorkboy?
Most recently read: 'Tracks', at Strange Horizons, an atmospheric almost-ghost short-short-story by Stacey Gruver.
