Manifold

I've been meaning to write something about Stephen Baxter here for a couple of weeks now, what with Reid Malenfant being a character he created, and all. Today, I finished Phase Space, which is his latest short story collection, so this seems as good a time as any. Plus, the last time I wrote nice things about an author here, I got a complimentary email in response, so that's got to be worth another shot. :-)

It got pretty long, so it's going behind a cut.
