Ray of Light is a very good album. I think it is probably her best work - and certainly lives somewhere in my top 20 albums. Music did grow on me - but it isn't anywhere near as good. Erotica is under-rated - probably due to all the hype that surround it, what with the book and everything - but has some great stuff on it (though the cover of Fever is probably best described as ill advised). American Life is just not very good. The fact that Die Another Day is the stand out track says it all really..... I really ought to buy some of the 80s stuff - Like A Virgin is supposed to be very good (and deeply personal) and the first album has a lot of innocent charm from the bits I have heard.
The trouble with Madonna is that it is difficult to seperate her music from everything else......
