From here:
The findings, published in the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, show that celebrity worship is not just the remit of teenage girls or science fiction fans, and can be split up into three different stages.

Isn't that good to know?

Oh yeah, cos when i was a teenage girl and sci-fi fan, thats when i had a mental disease. Now i'm just normally unbalanced, being only one of those things now.

*sigh*

i don't think of my fandom as worship. If i was watching reality tv and buying heat magazine (and all that stuff) every week, thats what i characterise as such. So i suppose i am just as biased as everyone else. hi, my name's aileen, and i'm a reality tv and tabloid journalism snob. I feel better for that.

Riiiiight.....

And how is this a 'disease', then? To show interest in someone's work and enjoy discussing it with people is hardly a DSM IV or ICD-10 classified 'deviance', I'd think...

Well I have this limited edition only-100-minted pristine painted Warhammer 40K SpaceMarine, ha! You can keep your "cool" PalmPilot.
