I have to agree that while the Doctor Who special was many things, boring was not one of them.

I have to disagree that BG is boring. Why it's almost as fond of Extreme EMO For Its Own Sake as Torchwood...

True, although Battlestar Galactica is far more consistent in its characterisation than Torchwood. It feels like the characters are the same from week to week, and that they, and the universe they inhabit, continue to exist between episodes. Torchwood has never convinced me of those things.

I doubt that there exists a qualitative yardstick by which Torchwood would be ranked higher than BSG, but that has more to do with the fact that Torchwood is frequently outdone by grade school plays than with any merit on BSG's part.
